Group Resource Manager

Here’s what you should know if you want to be a Group Resource Manager at R/GA:

On any given day you might

  • Work with producers and group/office leads to understand client engagement statements of work & funding that drive resource needs for the group/office
  • Liaise with group/office leads, producers and creative, technology and strategy department heads on a weekly basis to understand, communicate and manage overarching team resource needs
  • Collaborate with other GRMs on a daily and weekly basis for intra-group and intra-office resource sharing; make recommendations based on clear knowledge & understanding of group member skill sets across all departments
  • Monitor group/office bandwidth and maximize utilization across team resources
  • Maintain, analyze and publish the following reports: Utilization reports by office/group, capacity plans for each quarter, staffing trends and operations overviews
  • Escalate to the appropriate department stakeholder any information related to: group rotations, retention/employee relations, increase or decrease in workflow and projected staffing needs
  • Partner with Recruitment to identify when internal resources are not available to fit talent needs, prepare staff or freelance request paperwork (when applicable) for submission to Recruitment, and prioritize open positions
  • Act as transition point of contact for new hires coming into the Group/Office; i.e. once new hire begins at R/GA, RM becomes primary point of contact for project allocation and serves as primary liaison between employee information and Reporter team
  • Partner with HR to escalate any information related to retention/employee relations and contribute input to employee performance reviews
  • Partner with Reporter Team to ensure comprehensive and correct resource information (staff and freelance) is uploaded in to Reporter
  • Educate group/office resources on time sheet compliance
  • Manage team seating charts if necessary
  • Work as a liaison and confidante; both within the client teams as well as at an executive level, therefore, the ability to maintain confidential information is crucial 

The ideal person

  • Has outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Is a quick and creative problem solver who works well under pressure
  • Has budgeting and production experience
  • Understands the disciplines within a digital agency
  • Has a strong understanding of MS Excel and familiarity with enterprise management applications
  • Can work collaboratively to develop staffing solutions

You bring

  • 3+ years’ of traffic or operations experience in a production environment
