R/GA London is looking for an Enterprise Technology Consultant (ETC) to support the growth of the R/GA EMEA technology consultancy service. The Enterprise Technology Consultant will act as a consultant and technologist embedded within project teams at R/GA’s EMEA offices (London, Istanbul, Berlin and Bucharest) and onsite with client teams in the EMEA region. Your primary location will be the London, UK office and you will report into the Executive Technology Director (also based in London).
In this role, you will focus on advising and guiding the enterprise architecture of client projects and digital product development initiatives to ensure successful delivery on projects that integrate omnichannel applications with existing back-office or line-of-business systems taking into account the need for scalability, resilience and continuity required for always-on digital executions.
You will have experience of digital projects and deep knowledge of enterprise integration patterns, with a track record of integrating content management, ecommerce, CRM and other back office systems. They will have a working knowledge of developing of RESTful APIs, designing service orientated architectures (SOA), API gateway and API management systems, messaging systems, process orchestration and enterprise service buses.
You will also provide guidance and business growth opportunities for the team, and be an advocate for the Technology Department within R/GA and the industry at large. A critical part of your role will be to integrate deeply with the wider creative team within R/GA and work very closely with them to ensure a high degree of synergy between user experience design and solutions architecture.
In this role, you will enjoy wide exposure to a cross disciplinary teams within R/GA such as business development, production, creative and experience design, campaigns and data science. Likewise, you will be expected to interact with clients on a regular basis and work with R/GA client partners to help drive new business opportunities.
Your Primary Responsibilities /
/ In your day to day role, you will be developing robust and clearly articulated architectures alongside other R/GA technologists, client-side technical architects. You will be able to clearly document proposed architectures for discussion with clients including product backlogs, functional and nonfunctional requirements and design the concepting, logical and physical architecture of the solution.
/ You will provide guidance and oversight on implementation projects, acting as escalation point for architectural questions and acting as chief liaison between R/GA development teams and client side architecture and operations teams.
/ You’ll be expected to work hand in hand with R/GA's creative team to validate proposed creative experiences and contribute to the creative process. You will act as a trusted and experienced technologist who can support the creative teams when presenting concepts to clients and demonstrate to clients how R/GA can deliver an end-to-end creative and technology solution.
/ You will develop actionable technology strategy blueprints and roadmaps for client enterprises that will enable ongoing execution engagements for R/GA.
/ You will identify and mitigate risks within technology execution projects and ensure that potential dependencies are managed effectively between R/GA and client teams.
/ You will act as a senior level counterpart to client leadership, providing technology-focused strategic direction to the client. Digital strategy is increasingly dependent on technical expertise and experience, and the client will look to you to form brand and product strategies.
/ You will work with new business development to identify opportunities for enterprise architecture consultancy and help to sell in these projects with clearly defined engagements.
/ You will have at your disposal access to a highly talented offshore development team, who are a group of motivated and skilled front end and full stack software engineers and QA engineers. You will be expected to work closely with colleagues on this team and instruct, guide and support them throughout the production phase of all projects that require software development. You will act as a buffer between R/GA’s offshore dev team and the client and their numerous requirements. As part of your role it will be critical to gain the trust and respect of the offshore team in order to make your role effective and successful. It should be noted that the offshore team is a fully integrated part of R/GA where everyone is a full time R/GA employee. This is not a third party, subcontracted team. As such you may be expected to occasionally visit the offshore team and help to drive team cohesion, growth and motivation. You will also have access to the wider R/GA network and its available pool of technology resources.
Core Technology Skills /
/ You will have a proven history of technology management experience working on large digital applications.
/ You have experience with various projects types, including content management, ecommerce, CRM, SOA, middleware and other back-office systems.
/ You will have experience of consultancy engagements on-site with clients working closely with client technologists and business stakeholders.
/ You must have hands-on knowledge of key enterprise programming languages, such as .Net and Java.
/ You will have up to date digital infrastructure architecture experience, including Cloud services, CDN, asynchronous message queue systems, clustered server environments and you should be intimately familiar with the latest approaches such as serverless architectures and static site hosting (for example Netlify).
/ You can demonstrate consistently excellent leadership and communication skills.
/ You will posses a deep understanding of technical project management, scoping, risk management and estimation.
/ You have a track record in pre-sales support for consultancy and systems integration work.
