Associate Data Scientist, HR

As a global agency with over a dozen offices worldwide, we look to our Human Resources department to help push our business forward, while handling challenges of scale in an ever-evolving industry. Human Resources, acts as strategic consultants to the agency, and uses its expertise in data, systems and operations to roll out business initiatives in a dynamic, technologically and creatively driven environment.

Our team is seeking an Associate Data Scientist, HR to support the development of HR tools and systems and to implement and monitor data quality standards, governance and operations.

On any given day you might

  • Buildout in-house People Operations Platform functionality and linkages to other systems to enhance core HR processes.
  • Collaborate with the Systems teams, HR, or our parent company, Interpublic Group of Companies, to improve data quality health or rollout new initiatives.
  • Ensure data quality and auditing procedures have been established and documented for HR/people data.
  • Thoughtfully address data integrity issues and work to understand process or systems root cause(s).
  • Provide general process and technical support on an as-needed basis for data quality analysis, monitoring, and remediation.
  • Analyze and recommend thoughtful solutions to leaders and business partners relating to data collection, definitions, access control, and process improvements. Perform data collection where appropriate.
  • Partner on our people analytics and predictive efforts to enhance insights delivery to the business.

The ideal person

  • Has experience building and deploying HR tools and systems from scratch with a design emphasis on simplicity, security and automation.
  • Has superb English language communication skills and has partnered with teams around the world.
  • Understands and applies logic to analyze and review core data sets, looking for patterns, drawing insights.
  • Anticipates questions, thinks ahead, plans for contingencies. Finds alternative/practical solutions when ideal solutions are not possible.
  • Is inventive and comfortable multitasking, and can adapt to changing priorities to meet demands.
  • Maintains confidentiality and delivers with accuracy and thoroughness in a timely manner.

You bring

  • BA/BS degree in a technical discipline (e.g., computer science, math, engineering, economics, statistics), or equivalent technical work experience.
  • 2+ years analytical/data work experience.
  • Experience with a programming language (e.g. Python, JavaScript, SQL)
  • Prior exposure to HRIS Systems (e.g., PeopleSoft).
  • Technically savvy with MS Excel.

Bonus Points

  • If you have experience working with APIs and automated workflows.
  • If you have experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
  • Project management and change management experience, with the ability to influence leaders and partners across functional teams.
