West Coast Marketing and PR Manager

Our Corporate Communications department creates integrated programs designed to raise R/GA’s profile on a global scale. They work alongside our senior leadership team to lead marketing and communications strategies for the agency, and play an active role in how we evolve our PR and social media practices.

The Marketing and PR Manager is responsible for external communications, including creating various high quality PR collateral, building and maintaining strong media relations, management of industry speaking and events program, message development, and social media engagement for R/GA’s west coast offices (Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland).

On any given day you might

  • Develop and contribute to comprehensive PR and marketing plans and strategies for R/GA’s west coast offices
  • Manage PR campaigns; including planning, pitching, and summarizing results
  • Draft and review press materials
  • Proactively secure byline opportunities
  • Research industry trends and develop organic pitches for media
  • Spearhead innovative social media initiatives
  • Provide in-depth event research
  • Work with executives to craft compelling submissions to secure speaking roles
  • Work with executives to provide ROI analysis subsequent to events
  • Ensure R/GA offerings are equally represented throughout the year
  • Establish and foster relationships with key event organizers
  • Proactively evaluate, secure and execute events without supervision
  • Work in conjunction with senior management to align PR and marketing efforts with business objectives and communicate effectively with regional staff
  • Find innovative ways to promote PR internally and facilitate better internal communication across the network

  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills and works well with off site contacts
  • Establishes and fosters relationships with key team leads within the agency
  • Demonstrates proven ability to understand larger PR strategy

You bring

  • Strong relationships with reporters in NY and US markets, preferably within the Advertising and Media industry
  • Ability to deliver final presentations that are on brand and message with logical flow
  • Preexisting relationships with local industry press contacts
  • Experience conducting media outreach and creating content for social channels
  • Demonstrated expert level of writing, bringing a portfolio of secured placements
  • 4-5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree with public relations or related field helpful
