Executive Director, Business Development, Management Consulting

R/GA’s Business Transformation offering is our consulting practice. Unlike traditional management consultants, Business Transformation is highly output focused (and is thus named after its output). With a specific focus on innovation consulting, the Business Transformation team creates actionable strategy that helps clients transform their current model and/or introduce new and relevant products or services. These new offerings are recommended based on a deep understanding of category disruptions, consumer behaviors, technology opportunities and a client’s strategic assets. We’ve helped companies in a range of industries make the business case for innovation, identify and size markets for offerings, and create successful go-to-market strategies. Each of these recommendations includes a tangible and clear path forward, including but not limited to prototypes, ecosystem maps, and brand behaviors. Put another way, this is a consulting team that actually makes things. 

We are looking for an Executive Director, Business Development for Business Transformation at R/GA in our New York office to oversee growth for our Business Transformation consulting practice across the U.S. offices.

The individual is expected to be well connected (C-suite) and to be capable of identifying, pursuing and winning strategic consulting business opportunities.

The right person will report to the SVP Managing Director, Business Development, U.S. and will have a close working relationship and support from the SVP Business Transformation.

This person will help the team strategize the best response, the best solution, and the best proposal to the challenges on hand.


Here's what you should know if you want to be an Executive Director, Business Development for Business Transformation at R/GA:

On any given day you might:

  • Help to define and develop a new business strategy tailored to the Business Transformation practice
  • Proactively initiate new senior-level client relationships
  • Follow up on new business leads and identify and prioritize organic growth opportunities
  • Contribute to capabilities presentations and other marketing materials
  • Coordinate internal resources within office and cross-office to develop client proposals
  • Lead new business/pitch presentations
  • Develop and maintain a client and prospect database
  • Work with the agency management team to meet overall agency vision and objectives
  • The ideal person
  • Has a solid track record of developing successful relationships with C-level clients
  • Has previous marketing or business development experience within a service/consulting business
  • Has a proven record of closing major retained accounts

  • 8+ years’ business development experience
